Long Distance Relationships
As word of my upcoming trip to Asia spreads like syphillis through my social circles, (Bad simile) I have been confronted with variations on the following question; Your not going to come back with some long distance girl friend, are you? The great thing is that for the first time in my life I can comfortably say, “NO”. The question is a valid one and I understand where people are coming from....

Things to Look Forward to
I know alot of people right now, many of them readers of this blog, who are in what are known as ruts. A rut is defined by consistent riding of the GO Train, miserable weeknights, and an overall feeling of nostalgia for the carefree days of university. Since I know these people often feel a strong urge to chug the Drano in their parent’s laundry rooms, I have decided to give them a glimpse...

Costa Rica
Just finishing up my trip in Costa Rica with a Halloween Party this evening. Me and my travelling companion (no homo) will be going as construction workers (no homo) to a bar where we will probably be offered coke at least half a dozen times. Our outfits consist of bright safety vests and construction helmets. I can almost guarantee this will a great night. In other news I return to Canada on...

Mr. Controversy Kanye West is an arrogant asshole. I think the above clip makes that crystal clear but that whole argument is besides the point. We all already knew this and Kanye has admitted to this personality defect on several of his songs. This is also not the first time he has bumrushed the stage during someone elses acceptance speech, although it is the first time he has done it in defence...

Best Recreational Baseball Team Name
Someone sent an email to me today saying that the best name for a recreational baseball team is “The Stepdads”. This is because when the other team asks what your name means you can reply “Well you hate us and we always beat you…pretty obvious to me.” This joke has been paraphrased.

No Homo Continues its Resurgence
Well ever since resparking the debate in a blog post a couple weeks ago I have seen the term “No Homo” resurge into popular culture. The trend continues this week with an essay in Slate magazine http://www.slate.com/id/2224348/ and a rebuttal in New York Mag http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2009/08/no_homo_cause_for_hope_in_hip.html This is getting a little out of hand.

The Grass is Always Greener on the Other Side
Trust me I don’t want to write another contemplative post but I had lunch with a girl I know recently and she said something that really made me think. So as much as I’d love to do a post on how dope Funny People (Don’t listen to the critics, its Judd Apatow’s best movie) is, or a post with lots of pictures and not much text I’m going to have to disappoint both myself...

Brave New World
Sorry for the lack of posting in the past week but I have been dying of a rare virus for most of the past week and have been mostly bedridden (Think Charlie’s Grandpa in the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) As a result I have done alot of thinking and have come up with the following. I suppose we all remember our childhood as a more innocent, carefree time. A time of birds...
