Getting Crowded
Thomas Friedman the author of the above book recently wrote a very thought provoking column in The New York Times. Here is the link:

The gist of it is that you don’t have to believe that global warming is real to see that investing in clean energy is a good idea. This line of arguing is something that most environmental activists could learn a great deal from. With the increasing evidence of sunspots it is going to take more than some stories about polar bears to get people on board with climate change legislation.
The idea is that if we choose not to invest in and support technologies like wind and solar energy we are inadvertently supporting some of our worst enemies. With the World population growing at rapid rates and more and more people attaining an American lifestyle, the price of oil will be set to skyrocket in the coming years. Although this helps some of my friends in Alberta it also helps countries like Iran and Russia swing above their weight-class on the World stage.
